Does resetting permalinks to what it was effects visibility?

    So what happened yesterday was my site broke down and I had to do some changes and restoration of some files. And when all was done my links were broken so I head over to permalinks in the dashboard and had to set it back to what it was. Does this by any chance effect anything on the site?

    Setting/resetting permalinks flushes/rebuilds the permalink cache and rebuilds the part of .htaccess between the BEGIN WORDPRESS and END WORDPRESS comments.

    Well, I had to set them again because of some files replaced. Does this have any effect on site visibility/SEO by any chance?

    thanks, steven. I had one more issue. when i click on plugins in dashboard its redirecting to 404 page?

    still 404. i tried two times.

    Add New and Editor under plugins works fine. It is just with plugins.php

    plugins.php doesn’t get changed when you alter permalink.

    Did you change your home/siteURLs? (NOTE: DO NOT CHANGE THEM NOW, I’m just asking)

    Thanks. While I was trying to fix the fusion plugin conflict with the w3 total cache. plugins.php was renamed I just renamed it to normal. It’s working now. thanks for your help guys.
