• I have upgraded to 5.0, as of now when i try to insert a link in a page, the option “open link in new tab” is not saved. Where I try to enable it in a new link it won’t work, also when I try to disable it in an existing link it is not saved.

The final stuff gets cut off here, but the link does work for me to open in a new tab.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins and themes one at a time.

I had the same problem and disabling the Plugins didn’t help.
What did work for me was switching back to the WordPress Classic Editor. As soon as I did that I was able to to save my “Open Link in New Tab” tick mark and it now works fine.
