• In version 2 this function was operative, but in version 3 it is not.
    On the support page: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/247-sending-welcome-emails-to-users-manually-added-to-lists
you propose to generate a template, etc …
On our website, we change list users because we have events, they are previously subscribed, but when they are added to the new list, the welcome emails are not sent.

You explain on this support page:
    —————————————————-
Why was it designed like this?

The intended outcome (send a single welcome email to a batch of subscribers) is a one-off event and is rarely industrialized.

Also, MailPoet is simply avoiding users mistakenly sending welcome emails when managing their subscribers. Many users have numerous large lists which are prone to this scenario.
    —————————————————-
It is too cumbersome for us to do all these steps because the people who administer it have limited access.

Is it possible to obtain code so that we can implement it on our own?
If not, would it be possible to enable this function in the next updates?

  • Hello,

I have another use case and would also benefit from welcome emails being sent to imported subscribers.
People physically coming to a workshop we offer write down their email address if they want to receive news from us. About once a week, I input their names and email addresses into our “database”, a LibreOffice Calc sheet. It would save me a lot of time to be able to import these subscribers by pasting the data in CSV format in the “MailChimp text box” you offer, but I’m adding them manually to ensure they get our Welcome email.

On the support page linked by Miguel Arroyo, you offer a workaround. But it seems complicated and also prone to errors. Why not add the option to send welcome emails when importing subscribers, and leave it unchecked to avoid mistakenly sending these welcome emails?

Anyway, thanks for a great plugin! (I’m using version 3.17.1 on WP 4.9.9).

    Hi All,

Thanks for your feedback! Both use cases make perfect sense. We’ve noted down your feedback in our internal feedback board. ??

    Thanks!

    Thank you!

I’ll keep an eye on future versions’ release notes!

Why not add the option to send welcome emails when importing subscribers, and leave it unchecked to avoid mistakenly sending these welcome emails?

Any news on adding this feature? ??

    Thanks!

I just thought of another suggestion to implement this feature:

In the list of subscribers, a selection of subscribers can be re-sent the confirmation e-mail, in the Grouped Actions field.
After filtering recent subscribers of a given list, would it be possible to add into the Grouped Actions field the ability to re-send the welcome e-mail?
Maybe with a confirmation dialog box to avoid errors?

It doesn’t feel as clean as the first suggestion but it would do the job. ??

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Any chance of seeing one of the above suggestions added to MailPoet?

We’re considering disabling our Welcome e-mail, because it forces us to add every new subscriber manually, when importing a batch of them every other week would be much faster.

Thanks again for a very useful plugin.

+1, as it would be useful to have a tool here.

Recently at an event I got 88 subscribers who had had subscribed by filling out a card, manually. The next day I had to type them all in and import them to my list of subscribers.

I sent them an welcome e-mail by just selecting them, sorted by date and only selecting the ones that I could tell I had imported / added myself.

Maybe a bit unhandy this way, but it worked.

As of December 2019, it doesn’t seem to be in the works.

    Let’s cross fingers. ??
