No links working- 500 internal server error

  • Hello there,

    I have installed wordpress. When i go to my blog[blog.abc.com] i do see the front page.but no sooner i start clicking around i get the following error:
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Also my server logs show the following:
    mod_rewrite: maximum number of internal redirects reached. Assuming configuration error. Use ‘RewriteOptions MaxRedirects’ to increase the limit if neccessary., referer: https://blog.abc.com/

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • delete the .htaccess in wordpress root and test site
    if working well regenerate your permalinks
    admin – settings – permalinks

    I’ve got a similar problem I think, after upgrading to 2.8. I can get to the admin page, but none of the posts or pages on the blog will show up in the browser. Firefox says:

    Redirect Loop

    Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

    The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.

    * Have you disabled or blocked cookies required by this site?
    * NOTE: If accepting the site’s cookies does not resolve the problem, it is likely a server configuration issue and not your computer.

    . Deleting .htaccess does not solve it. Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated.
