homepage post slide show

  • How would I go about making a post slide show?

    Here is exactly what I am thinking of:

    Go to the homepage, site loads with a single post displayed, the latest post to the blog. After about 5 seconds or so, the post would change to the next latest post, and so on. There should be a stop/start button too I would think.

    Any ideas? Is there a plugin or known method?

  • I am seeking a similar solution but have, as of yet, not found anything.

    You might try reading the post from UpsideDownCity:
    WordPress Featured Post Slideshow/. It seems to work fairly well, but has some problems (the author notes if the post count of your “featured” category is not divisible by 3, the system will crash).

    Also: take a look at the Hybrid News theme which does exactly what you want (but might be a bit difficult to translate to another design).
