Redesigned.. better?

    Hi there,
    I just redesigned my site https://vivified.net/.
    Some may remember my site from a few months ago, I posted it here.
    The new site is completely managed with wordpress (not just the news), which is fantastic. Sadly it did take some serious hacking to get it working the way I wanted it to, but alas. It’s here.
    So I was wondering, do you like it?
    Anything I could improve on?

    Some of the pages (for now only in the work section) have multiple images at the top (a mini-gallery), if this is the case, a next button will pop up on the right side of the image. Check it out.

    I didn’t see the old site, but I like the design of this one. It’s pretty original. Nice touch with the transperencies. Quite a cd collection too.

    Oh, just followed the link to the old design. That’s good too, but I like the sparseness of the new one. Overall the new one is very original. The old one is original with color and gradients, but the layout of the new one is cooler, simpler, sparse.

    Agreed but I like colours and gradients ( ?? ). But both designs look good

    Thanks for all the comments, it’s much appreciated ??
    I really wanted to get away from the generic two column blog layout, and I’ve always liked minimalist design, so I went that direction.
    I still like the old site aswell, sadly the xhtml differs quite a bit, and I’ve hacked my new wordpress install completely to pieces, so I doubt I can get the old design working as an alternate style…

    I never saw your old site, but I dig the transparency and the favicon….way to incorporate elements of your site!

    If you were using a ‘real’ browser, your suggestion would already
    be working. Blame IE ??
    And about the themes… well.. I am using a 1.3 beta..
    The problem is I didn’t bother to check out the theme support, and just hacked everything together in the index.php. Oops ??
    I’ll look into it though, it would be cool to have both styles up.
