    I’m still new with wordpress…

I moved the blog from the default home page to its own page /blog/ and created a new homepage, however wordpress is still reading home.php through the /blog/ page.

Is there a way I can switch that back or how might I specify a new non-default template per page?

  • If I’m understanding correctly, I think you’ll need to specify a different name for your new home page. I believe home.php will still go to the blog portion. Try naming it something like home-page.php and see if that works.

Hmm, still doesnt seem to be working. I’m pretty sure only home.php is automatically recognized by wordpress.

Do you know how to add php files to be loaded per page? Like have a blog.php and about.php for /blog and /about?

Ok I figured it out. I needed to add.
<?php /*Template Name: Homepage */ ?> to the respective page and then go into dashboard > pages > “attributes” and find the “Homepage” template.
