Primary Navigation Dropdown Click not working since Generatepress 2.0

    Hi community,

    since I have puzzled with this now for some weeks, I decided to ask for help here. To illustrate, I have set up a sample WordPress page under https://test2.prpost.de/ .

    I have setup a new plain WordPress 5.0.2 with the current GeneratePress 2.2.1 as theme and no further plugins. In addition, I have added some empty pages for illustration purposes. As options I have mainly changed:

    Customizing -> Layout -> Primary Navigation -> Navigation Dropdown

    from “Hover” to “Click Arrow” and the dropdown is not working anymore. The same is true for the option “Click Menu Item”.

    On another sample page at https://test1.prpost.de/ I have installed an older Version of GeneratePress, namely 1.4, and this is the last version where it is still working with the same settings.

    Did I miss anything in the change logs or did I do something essentially wrong? Can anybody help or has a similar problem?

    If it helps, I can instantly change options or whatever is needed at the test pages.

    Hi there,

    That’s strange – can you try creating a menu and assigning it to the Primary Menu location in “Appearance > Menus”?

    Hi Tom,

    thanks for the swift response. I have tried what you suggested and rebuild the menu explicitly and set it as Primary Menu. Now the dropdown works, as you can see at https://test2.prpost.de/ . However, I would like to use the automatic menu in one page, since I otherwise have to manually add menu entries for deeper structured pages. Is there any workaround where this is working? Still, I am puzzled where this strange behavior comes from. If I need to test something more, just let me know.

    Looks like a bug on our end. I’ll be sure to get it fixed in 2.3 ??

    Just to give an update, the version 2.2.2 did not fix the problem. I’ll cross fingers for 2.3.

    2.2.2 was a minor update – we try not to do major things in updates like that.

    It will be in 2.3 ??
