I have gone through with a fine tooth comb but can’t find the solution.
I have followed the guide https://contactform7.com/recaptcha/ on updating the plugin, reCaptcha api keys etc

When I activate this all I get is the red box Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact me by another method. I have no problem when either recaptcha is turned off or was using an older version of the plugin, and V2

Can someone look into this as I manage a number of sites and reluctant to update any until this is resolved on my personal site.

    Thanks

  • I’m having a similar problem but my site looks different than yours.

It’s a scratch site, schindlerscientific.com and I just updated to WP 5.0.2 and updated all of the plugins + integrated reCaptcha v3 according to directions from CF7.

On the CF7 page, the “i am not a robot” box is still there After checking the box and clicking send, I get the failure message.

Further, every page has a recaptca logo in the bottom right which opens up a huge list of things Google is going to do with your info. All true and good to know, but scary. I’ve seen elsewhere ways to remove this, but I’d prefer a simple setting selection somewhere.

@pantsman28 – have you checked you are advised to ensure that the theme you use properly loads JavaScript in the footer area of each page.

If that’s not the issue, you likely have a general WP email sending issue.

See If You Have Email Problems – most people that work carefully through this list of email sending issues are able to solve their particular problems.

I am experiencing the same issue. I have temporarily disabled Recaptcha v3 integration until this get’s resolved. I’m using the Comment Blacklist Manager plugin and it’s working pretty well.

I found what was causing the issue was with CF7 & reCAPTCHA v3.
I thought I would share my findings.

2 Things, ithemes security plugin as a setting for reCAPTCHA which effects the admin login area. This wasn’t causing my problem with the contact form but thought I would make people aware this setting needs updating when moving over to V3.

Secondly, after inspecting load errors in chrome inspect console it was failing to load the header script. This was because I was using WPRocket (to defer js files)
After turning off defer .js files for this page and clearing both page cache & cloudflare cache files it started working properly.

I hope this helps other people resolve the issue?
