Database backup exploses in file size

    My database is 20MB big. I also stored some other backup files in the backup folder. These backup files are for other applications.

    The database backup of this plugin backups the 20MB database, but it is also includes the other files in the final zip file! I end up with backup files of 2GB and it cripples my server ??

    For now, I have dropped the other backup files so that they are not taken anymore in the WP backup files. I can also not exclude those external files as there is no “exclude” option for the daily database backups.

    Question: why the database daily schedule is zipping also other files? What is the name pattern or algo behind it? Can we exclude folders from the daily database job too?
