    Hi again, colomet ??

Yes, that’s perfectly acceptable. You can manually enter an URL to your liking when the image URL field is editable.

The plugin won’t tell the social network of the image dimensions when an URL is entered manually, however. So, the image might not be available the first time the page is shared. For more information, see: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/best-practices/#precaching

Looks like, after testing, the image is not the first time available, but later, no matter where is come from the image. As the image is loaded in facebook, from a different post shared for very first time, we can see the preview at first.

So is not a bad idea. as if just one time the image is not shared, is a tiny issue. And i could use just one image in each simmilar situation, not to upload 20 times the same image.

    Hi colomet,

If you’ve uploaded (and maybe cropped) the image once via the social image uploader, it’ll be available via the image selection interface. So, you don’t have to re-upload it, and you won’t face the loading issue when doing so.

Aside from that, in the link I’ve shared above, Facebook offers a solution via the Sharing Debugger for the “first share issue”, too ??

Run the URL through the URL debugger to pre-fetch metadata for the page. You should also do this if you update the image for a piece of content.

I do use a multise, so the image is in a different site. The image selection interface will not work.

But after my test. looks like if the image is on facebook already, no matter the page you share on facebook, the image will work for the very first time I share one of those cloned pages.

    thanks for the URL debugger

    regards
