The default state of this plugin is to show the error.log in chronological order if I remember correctly.

I have a site on a host who don’t give update_core permissions (I just asked), yet my installation of the plugin is showing reverse order (i.e., newest errors first) so I must have been able to configure it at some point.

Has the update_core requirement been introduced in an update recently?

I checked the revision history and it looks like the update_core check was introduced in March 2018. And yes, chronological order is the default setting.

If you don’t have update_core, what other admin-only capabilities does your account/role have? Can you update plugins or themes? Edit plugin files?

I can update plugin and themes, yes. I can also edit plugin files.

I’ve just released an update that changes the required capability from update_core to install_plugins. Hopefully, this will allow you to access widget settings.

This change shouldn’t compromise security since both of these capabilities are normally exclusive to administrators or Super Admins (in Multisite).

Thanks. It’s working again with this new update.
