• Do I use the same info (database name, username, etc…) as the primary domain? Thanks in advance!

  • I assume you already have an active wordpress on main domain?

You will need to use different database name, mysql username etc for your new instance on your subdomain, as it will be a completely independent instance of wordpress.

You can use the same database – but you will need to set a different database prefix so that the new site doesn’t get mixed in with the old site.

Thanks for the responses. I wasn’t sure if it would be as simple as just creating new database values, I’m still very new when it comes to understanding what all of that does, so I appreciate the help.

subdomain is different with main domain, so, hopefully you can create different all database, such as database name, username, and also your password. This important so that not any conflict in your root directory, especially if you want to manually set up or manually backup.
