    Events Manager Version: 5.9.5
    WordPress Version 5.0.3

A user on my website is repeatedly getting the error message “A variable mismatch has been detected.” when trying to add an event.

They previously added events without a problem and I am not able to recreate the problem.

I have also looked in out server’s error logs and found nothing.

Is there anything that could be causing this problem?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Ok, earlier today, I was able to successfully add a test event. But now I am also constantly receiving the “A variable mismatch has been detected” error message.

Events are able to be entered in the Admin area, but not on the frontend.

I have been trying different things and it seems the issue is when an image is uploaded via the frontend submission form.

I have tried changing the Image Size settings to see if that will work, but it has not.

    Currently, the settings are:

    Maximum width (px): 50

    Minimum width (px): 50

    Maximum height (px): 7000

    Minimum height (px): 5000

    Maximum size (bytes): 64000000

Of course, these are not the sizes I would normally want, but I placed these numbers in there trying to get it anything to work.

I don’t know if this is the same issue, but I googled “A variable mismatch has been detected.” and WordPress looking to see if anyone else was having an issue, and it looks like multiple plugins started having this problem after the release of WordPress Version 5.0.1. I jumped from 4.9.9 to 5.0.3 just a couple days ago, so… maybe?

    hi,

we tried this on our test servers and seems to be working fine; it might be a conflict with your other plugin or theme and maybe you can try WP Safe Mode to narrow down the problem without actually deactivating other plugins or themes

I am having same issue – doesn’t work on the frontend.

Still using WordPress 4.9.9 running Boss. Child Theme theme. No plugin updates since someone was able to add a listing about 4 hours ago.

Please help – what can I try to do to fix this asap??

Used the WP Safe Mode plugin and still received the same error message.

    Hello,

Could We perhaps know what PHP Version are you using? If you’re still using PHP 5.x, I would suggest upgrading to a PHP 7.0 or 7.1. In case you’re using PHP 7.2 please try and downgrade to PHP 7.1.

Could you also send a screenshot of the error?

Am using 7.2, can try 7.1 later.. The message is exactly as stated in original post – just that text on an empty page…

I just changed to 7.1 and it now works… please let us know when it will work properly with 7.2, thanks

    Hello,

We can’t provide any specific date on when it will be completely compatible with PHP 7.2. Our devs are constantly working on making the changes to be compatible with PHP 7.2 and other future versions.

does the error message come from Events Manager or from wordpress?

if from EM, then it would be good to recommend changing the PHP version (or specify up to which version is supported)

So, this problem is PHP 7.0.33? Or, have we hit a wall on ideas?

    Hello,

It is a problem with PHP 7.2 (Which is current latest version), Our devs would soon release an update that should fix the compatibility issue with PHP 7.2. In the mean time, Please continue using PHP 7.1.
