• After upgrading to WP 2.8 on FreeBSD 7.2, I am unable to edit pages using Appearance/Editor in the dashboard. The list of pages appears in the Editor, but clicking on any one of them displays a blank screen. I see this error in the logs:

[Sun Jun 21 09:48:32 2009] [error] [client 76.83.12.67] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function token_get_all() in /usr/home/cvc/www.cvcbike.org/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 273, referer: https://www.cvcbike.org/wp-admin/theme-editor.php

I should mention that I’m using Apache virtual hosting, and WP is installed in /home/cvc/www.cvcbike.org.

    Three questions:

    1. What ownership should files have?

    2. What permissions?

    3. If this isn’t an ownership or permissions issue, how to fix the token error above?

    thanks

The token error above was resolved by installing the p5-tokenizer port. However, my question about ownership and permissions still stands.

There are many other cases, such as automatic upgrades of plugins, where permissions and ownership appear to be an issue.

Thanks for any clues as to correct setup of WP with virtual hosting under Apache.
