Getting ERROR: Signal “SIGHUP” what does this mean?

Experiencing the identical problem within the past 2-3 days, so it is not installation-dependent.

Please try go to BackWPUp -> Settings -> Job tab -> Reduce server load and choose medium, in BackWPup -> Settings -> Jobs, set Maximum Script Execution Time setting to about 25 seconds then try run the job again. Is that help?
Normally, SIGHUP signal will be sent by the server if there is any long-running process(in this case is BackWPUp’s progress)

If not, would it possible for you to ask the hoster about the SIGHUP issue?

Set the backup archive to zip, that did not help. The hoster had not seen that error before and did not have anything to offer. Has this plugin been tested on older versions of WP? (4.1?)

Sorry but SIGHUP signal is sent by your Linux server, so it really needs to be resolved on the server side, you can check links there for more information:
