  • Hey @triptop,

Thanks for the feedback! There are a few items in the FAQ that may provide a solution to this issue, this one may get you going.

    ? ? – What can I try for 502/503/504 Gateway issues during the scan/build?
    ? ? – https://snapcreek.com/duplicator/docs/faqs-tech/#faq-package-025-q

    Hope this helps~

We had (and still have) the same issue, its not related to proxy issues but duplicator failing to progress to step 2 in the installation routine.

We narrowed it down to the point where after unzipping and changing permissions the installer would progress to step 2, but after the redirect and check of status file he thinks step 1 was not completed.

Actually, when this is done the first time, the step 1 never “really” completed, it is stuck showing a progress bar (that is when the proxy just says 50x Gateway error cause the response times out). Looking at the logs, it says step 1 complete so it must be some problem with the postback in step1.

I’ve seen similar issues reported here, for us the issue appeared after upgrading WP to 5.x and upgrading Duplicator to latest.

    Hey @v7cnf3uhbhwcfwhq,

Gateway errors are issued by the web server, the plugin really has no control over those status codes. We have success on hundreds of hosts so its most likely something isolated to the server. If you want to submit a support ticket for this issue we can have a closer look at your setup. Please provide a link to this thread when submitting the ticket.

    Thanks~

    @corylamleorg,

you are right the error itself is a response from the reverse proxy after the apache does not respond within the configured timeout. This is just the symptom of the actual issue. I could have responded to one of the other threads saying “gets stuck after step 1″… would have been more clear I guess.

I’ll file a ticket then, thanks.

    Hello
Any hope, you will enhance the plugin ?
In that case, It would be more than welcome to notify me.
I bank on you because my provider does not want to help me at all.
    Thanks

Sorry, but on our side it was not Duplicator related!

    Hey @triptop,

If you want to submit a support ticket for this issue we can have a closer look at your setup. We have not been able to reproduce this issue on any of our hosted servers. Please provide a link to this thread when submitting the ticket.

    Thanks~
