mod rewrite rules not updating on httaccess

    I am getting an error.

    The plugin could not update /home/linkcomca/linkcom.ca/.htaccess file: Page test failed as pages did not match with new .htaccess rules.

    How do I fix this? Can I add the code manually via ftp?

    Yes you can add it manually. Its likely the permissions on htaccess are not allowing modification.
    Make permissions 644 to allow changes, then you can lock it down (for better security) to permission 404.
