    Hello,
    how are you?
Can this plugin look at the images that are in the folder uploads and match them with images that are in media gallery?
This feature is useful to clean up the media uploads folder of wordpress that sometimes see an increasing in the number of media that are not longer used by the site.

I look forward to hearing from you.
    Kind regards,

    Hi again @enfi !

Media DeDuper Pro will look at images attached to posts content, featured images, and meta fields (in some cases it is compatible with ACF) as well as at the gallery images in a woo commerce product. Those images are saved in the uploads directory in the WordPress filesystem.

Is that what you’re wondering about? We’re not sure about other potential ways to differentiate between uploads and media gallery — please clarify those terms if you are able.

    Thank you!

    Hello,
    thanks for your message.
    I’m sorry but I didn’t understand your answer. ??
My question is, if I use this plugin can I see if I have in my upload folder images that are stored there and not used in media library, posts, pages, products and so on?

You know sometimes you have images that are only in the folder uploads in your server and are not used in wordpress. These images use hosting space and if there are many could be a problem.

So will this plugin help to clean up folder uploads because it recognizes unused images?
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
    Kind regards,

    Hi @enfi

Thanks for your reply and for clarifying. That’s a feature that is in our pipeline but currently unavailable. Right now, the plugin only looks for images that are in use.

Sorry it doesn’t provide what you’re looking for right now. If you’d like to receive an update or ETA for when we’ll be able to do this, please let me know.

    Best,
    Monica
