    This started yesterday

While editing my site (changing themes.. customizing) I discovered that previewing my site takes me to a page that says it is home.. and that there’s nothing there.
Then I click “HOME” in my nav menu and am taken to my actual home page.

I go to my page list and that page is not there.

I’ve cleared the site cache, browser (palemoon) cache and relogged in.
I’ve changed the theme..then did the clearing again and I’m still directed to a page that I did not make.

Is there somewhere in the controls, that I have not found to delete a page that should not exist?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey
Do these steps and tell me if any work for you!

    • Create New Nav Menu and make it primary (create Home page not Custom Link)
    • Go to Setting > Reading, select Static Page and select page for home and blog.

    Well, I’m clearly menu challenged.
When trying to create a new menu, after creating a new page, that new page is not available for placing – nothing to drag to the new menu under pages – none of the rest of the pages are available either. It seems that once I’ve used a page on one menu, it’s not available for other menus.

I have a new menu with nothing on it.

The static page option isn’t available.. screen shot

    well that didn’t work..

    maybe that will

so, I still have a page that came from nowhere that I don’t know where to go to delete it.

    Oh!
Deactivate all your Plugin and switch to the default theme ( Twenty Nineteen ) and then check whether the options are available or not.

    done.. and no changes

No static page option in the settings/reading area
no pages available to add to new menus
and that blasted home page that I didn’t make is still there

ohhh.. public.. setting at least one page to public did the trick for removing the phantom page.
The static page option is back
now I’ll go back to being menu incompetent on my own

    thank you
