oops, i’ve stuffed up when trying to update 3 plugins

  • after seeing a message to update several plugins i started to FTP the recent versions into the site.

    they were:
    google-sitemap-generator
    all-in-one-seo-pack
    add-to-any-subscribe

    i now see the entire blog has crached and i can’t access the login to deactivate the plugins.

    the mesage i get when accessing the login is:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wp_clone() in /home/sanjuan/public_html/news/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2900

    on the offchance i wa thinking of opening that file and deleting line 2900.

    can someone throw me a lifeline here please?

  • 1st thing to do would be ftp to plugins folder and rename it
    that deactivates all plugins allowing you to get to admin area.

    look at plugins folder and see where you messed up

    thanks samboll. i have done that but i still get the same error message:

    what i’d forgotten and forgotten to mention is a itried to do an automatic upgrade to WP2.8. the upgrade failed and gave me several pages worth of code which i did not really look at.

    can this mean i’m “stuck” between 2 versions?

    am i completely stuffed?
