Woocommerce multicurrency switcher only on cart

    I have an odd request from a client. His store deals mostly to a US customer base so uses woocommerce for payments via paypal. The company is in Canada however and for their local customers they’d like an option to be able to switch currencies in the cart on check so locals can pay in CAD instead of USD rather then converting it later and losing twice with paypal. Now the issue becomes most of these plugins will geoip and convert all the product pages as well. Where the demographic of the site is older and they’ve run in USD for decades they want to maintain that on site so they don’t mistake the fact it is in CAD for a price hike. What is the best way to accomplish this as the conversions only need to be done on the cart itself and only to CAD and possibly the EUR as well.

    Any pointers would be great or if you know of something that does this already I’m all ears. Most want to convert everything which isn’t optimal for their needs.

    You may want to take a look at the WooCommerce Multi-Currency extension.

    It has the capacity to both GeoLocate and have the customer select the currency they want to see on the store via a drop-fon selection.

    I don’t know of any plugins that will allow you to handle currency conversion solely on the checkout page as it doesn’t make very much sense for a customer to start out shopping in one currency and then pay in another.

    This extension at least makes it clear what currency customers are seeing and they can change the currency at will.
