    Hi,

I currently have a online store on OsCommerce CMS but I want to install a blog using WordPress. I need to install it under the subdirectory /blog/.

The problem is that I went to download WordPress and read that is required servers running MySQL version 5.6. I have a hosting with MySQL version 5.5. I have seen that there is a archive with older releases. Which one should I download so that I can work on my hosting?

    Many thanks.

You should contact your host and tell them theny need an up to date version of MySQL, as well as PHP7. Don’t mess around with older stuff. There’s no reason, however, why your WP site would need to be hosted on the same host. You could use blog.example.com on another server rather than example.com/blog

Good idea! Surely install it in a subdomain blog.example.com

Thank you very much for the reply

I would tread carefully – my experience with OsCommerce is that it has a tendency to break with newer versions of PHP…
