• After the latest update in wordpress, the classic editor is no longer working as expected.

The “rel=”noreferrer” tag for ALL external links is now added again by default if you edit any post/page and save it.

This rel=”noreferrer” tag is NOT required as it will hide referrer for any click to external websites!

This is a security protection. The noreferrer is needed for IE and Edge as they do not implement noopener. More info: https://caniuse.com/#feat=rel-noopener.

No matter if it is useful or not, it is poorly implemented. Whenever I save a post a message pops up that a newer revision of this post is existing.
Comparing the latest two revisions just show all those “noreferrer” tags as only difference.

read this post how to remove “noreferrer” tag without any hassle and restore it anytime with one click.

I’m disgusted by WordPress dictatorship! I don’t really understand why people keep asking “but why do you want to remove noferrer attributes?”. Is it really too difficult to understand that there are affiliate marketing websites that allow you to send visitors to their site just by setting up your domain as the referrer and then you never have to deal with ugly affiliate links!!!

WordPress keeps doing terrible things to the free will of content marketers and make us lose money. I’m ashamed to have been using WordPress, I really hate you WordPress!!!
