I’ve just downloaded this nice plugin today, and get trouble when email option was activated. Every time I active the email option, I get a blank page when I login in my admin WordPress page. I have to delete manually the plugin, used a backup of my database and all is back… I believe this is a bug.

    Hi,
hmm i cannot seem to replicate this problem, can you let me know what other plugins and theme you have installed on site?

Additionally, the white page indicates some kind of fatal error, please open file wp-config.php add there a line define( "WP_DEBUG", true ); and try replicating the problem again. Now aside of white page you should also see an error message which you can copy and paste here i should be able to help then.

BTW. After experiencing the problem you do not need to remove the whole plugin you can just rename the “wpadverts” folder to something else in wp-content/plugins directory.

In fact, I do not use the email template by default in WordPress but an extension: “WP Mail SMTP” Version 1.4.1. Perhaps this one create an incompatibility with your application? I did not activate the email in your interface and all works fine. Just let you know…

I do not think the WP Mail SMTP plugin would conflict with the Emails module as they are technically doing a different thing, but i will install it and check.

Did you maybe had a chance to add the define( "WP_DEBUG", true ); in the wp-config.php and see what is the actual error message when you enable Email? This would be really helpfull.

I think I am experiencing something similar. I activated the Emails module and now my wp-admin page displays the following error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'list' (T_LIST), expecting identifier (T_STRING) in /home/usa50574/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpadverts/addons/emails/includes/class-emails-admin.php on line 98

I’m not sure if this is the same issue, but it seems related. Is there a setting in the database where I can disable the Emails module?

Update: Is list a reserved word? https://stackoverflow.com/questions/38412165/expecting-identifier-t-string

Thanks for the details, this might be it as i am using a reserved word as a function name.

I have made a quick update to the GitHub, you should be able to fix this error by uploading the file https://raw.githubusercontent.com/simpliko/wpadverts/master/addons/emails/includes/class-emails-admin.php to wpadverts/addons/emails/includes/class-emails-admin.php

Ok great thanks for the feedback, the same change will be added in the next WPAdverts release.

Hi, sorry for the delay… Let me do it this weekend. The issue for me is to do a backup first and then doing the test if I do not want to lose data.
