    Hi,

I found the issue with my template displaying my entire post as a hotlink by copying and pasting the source code into dreamweaver, found a lost little tag like this: <a in my “If you’re new here, subscribe to my RSS feed” portion of my blog. I’ve now removed that tag, saved the file to my desktop as a HTML file and want to upload it. My question is: Do I upload it to the main public ftp directory and rename it with .com at the end…..Or? I’m not that comfortable with cpanel, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  • You need to make changes to the relevant template file. Uploading what you have currently saved won’t work.

Where was the original problem? On every page or only on some pages? If it’s the former, you’ll probably need to look for the markup error in header.php or footer.php. If it’s the latter, it would help if you knew what kind of page the error occurred in.

You can edit your template files directly using Admin/Appearance/Editor.

Remember that problem I was having when we spoke yesterday?

I found a markup tag that looked like this: <a

    Great.

    I broke my template.

Sounds like you took out the wrong <a>. Can you re-insert it and then post your site’s url? Perhaps I can narrow it down a little for you.
