When I first installed Keyy on a website a few months ago to try it out, there was an option in settings that allowed the usual WP user/pass fields to appear beneath the Keyy barcode so that the user could choose how he or she wanted to log in. What happened to this option? I specifically set my WordPress preferences so that neither WP or my installed plugins would get updated automatically, so I’m not sure how this got changed. How can I get this functionality back?

I understand there is now a “secret” URL that allows logging in with the user/pass, but that’s not an optimal solution, IMHO.

  • Hi Michael,

Are you using Keyy (free) or Keyy Premium?

Ah, I’m using the free version. So, I’m guessing this functionality is available in the premium version but I saw it initially during a free trial?

    Hi Michael,

Can you explain further? I don’t believe we’ve ever run a free trial of the Premium version. Perhaps you were on someone else’s website that had the Premium version??

No, this is on a site I am developing.

Just to confirm: The ability to allow the user/pass fields to appear below the Keyy barcode as an alternative way to login is only available in the premium version?

    Hi Michael,

They should always be there, because some users on a site might have set up Keyy, and others won’t. So, the ones who’ve set it up use it, whereas others remain with the username/password.

What the Premium version has is the ability for an administrator to set policies, e.g. “admin users must require both Keyy and password”.

There’s a “hide password fields” option in the site-wide administration (not sure if that’s free only or Premium off the top of my head) – /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=keyy-admin
