• ok, this sounds awesome, but I’ve got some questions:

    – seems the freeware has a 3mb queue limitations. that doesn’t mean I can’t upload files bigger than 3mb does it?
    – I am having trouble with the integrated uploader, is this a full featured replacement?
    – I mean can I jsut go to write new post, upload media, attache the gallery or insert thumbnails liek with the built in uploader or is it more complicated now with this plugin?

    ok, tested: no files bigger than 3Mb can be uploaded

    – my old problem with the built in flash uploader persistst: I have a fast and unmetered connection at work, so I could batch upload some pictures, while the connection at home is slow and restricted. BUT after uploading the first picture, I get asked for my user/password and then the browser hangs. this happened with the built in uploader too, but the html uplaoder works, but that takes ages, uploading one by one ??

    Hi,

    yes – The WP Flash Uploader is a wrapper around the TWG Flash Uploader which is distributed a Freeware with the 3 MB limit. This limit is of course gone if you register. The registration is for TinyWebGallery, TWG Flash Uploader and the Joomla Flash Uplader as well because they all use the same Flash.

    The Flash can replace the internal uplader + you are even able to manage your worpress install because you can create folders and so on. The internal uploader is a little bit better integrated. In the WP Flash Uploader you have to synchronize after the upload. In the reg. version of the FLash Javascript events are available. I use this to synchronize the files automatically after the upload.

    If you are asked for a password: Are you directories protected by a .htaccess file? Because this is a problem of flash that on some servers cookies are not sent properly by the flash and therefore you have to enter the password again.

    About the workflow: Upload your images, synchronize and select them from the Media Libary. With the reg. version the synch is done automatically.
    And about upload – do you have FTP at work? Upload the files with ftp to the upload folder and synchronize you upload folder. The synchronization is indepentant of WFU.

    thx for clearing that up.
    the password/username I get asked for is for our proxy server which I don’t understand why. I mean http uploads work, flash uploads work in terms of it uploads the file, then before saving it or resizing it or whatever comes next it asks for my proxy username/pass and hangs.

    btw. can this plugin be changed so it puts uploaded files through all wordpress ‘actions’ that happen to normally uploaded files?

    i.e. I have a plugin that changes the names of uploaded files according to the data, another one called scissors that resizes uploaded images…

    I’d hate to lose that functionality…

    Currently this is not the case.

    TFU can already resize the images (you can configure this in the settings – with gdlib or image magick) and does also normalize file names. On the backend side of TFU I cannot use any WordPress code because of license issues. I would not be able to list the wrapper here. But I maybe just offer some addons on my site later on. The current wrapper does only use half of the possibilities of TFU. I will add more depending how many users will use WFU.

    You will not get around the password issue because Adobe has not implemented this properly. I hope they will fix this in the next version. I use really many workarounds in TFU to get it work on as many systems as possible but this is one I think that cannot be solved right now.

    @fernando Marques
    Seems in the WP db not all fields I thought which are mandatory are. I will add an additional check tonight. I’ll make a post when this is done.

    @ovidiu
    Which plugis do you use exaclty. Because I just had the idea to use the additional upload actions in the synch process. There I don’T have any license issues ;).

    @fernando Marques: I have update the repository. Please retry and give me feedback.

    I have to I register? then unfortunately I have no money, I’m unemployed and live in Brazil, the value in euro is 3x larger than you can imagine, this value is very high, with many debts and I am!

    I needed a lot of plugin, but I have to uninstall and 3 mb limit is too little, thanks

    I am interested in using these plugins:

    https://pixline.net/wordpress-plugins/upload-plus/en/
    https://stephanreiter.info/2008/10/wordpress-plugin-scissors/

    both are also on www.ads-software.com plugin site, but can’t fidn the links right now.

    @fernando:
    if you only use the synchronize part you don’t have to register. You can simply upload by e.g. ftp and synchronize the files. The limit is only for the upload itself because the the flash is used.

    @ovidiu:
    i’ll take a look.
