Stop Updated Notification

Hi,

Can you elaborate more on where this notification is appearing? We ask as we would expect an X to appear somewhere on it so you could mute it.

OR is it appearing as some kind of banner at the top of the screen that is not dismissible?

Any/all X’s are already muted and I see no banner of any kind, be it in the SEO, plugins or updates area.

What were X’s are now muted “eyes crossed out”. This was done before my initial complaint.

Can you please provide us with a screenshot of the specific notification that you are receiving that you are not able to dismiss? Does the notification you are experiencing the issue with occur in the SEO>General area of the plugin or somewhere else?

It occurs in the updates panel because there’s an updated version of your plugin. That update costs and I’m not ready to pay yet, so anyone with similar circumstances sees a constant update notification from the plugins update panel.

There are no active alerts inside of the SEO>General area.

Long story short, the new version requires another payment and until we pay, we have to see that constant “updates available” … for Yoast.

Disabling/Re-enabling the plugin is a temporary fix but that too is trying.

Dinesh Karki’s “Block Specific Plugin Updates” plugin doesn’t work either (but ONLY for Yoast, whereas it works fine with every other plugin I’ve ever installed, leading me to like Yoast slightly less because that seems sneaky, a little creepy even).

I’ll pay when I’m ready. No need to show update notifications for your plugin until then.

If your Premium plugin is still activated under Plugins area but you no longer have an active Yoast SEO Premium subscription, no update should be showing in your Dashboard.

However, we would like to confirm if you are seeing something like this (see screenshot) https://imgur.com/k99kibB as we have a reported issue where a phantom update shows up when both Premium and free Yoast SEO are installed. If this is the case for you, we apologize for the inconvenience as this issue is still open and is yet to be fixed.

A workaround is to delete the free Yoast SEO (if you are still using the Premium plugin). It should not affect your plugin settings.

I am not seeing what is represented in that image, so my guess is that it’s the same bug you mention.

… this statement is greatly confusing. I don’t see anything that points to “free Yoast SEO” and yes, I’m still using the premium version.
