I starting to discover multiple sites recently updated to the latest version of Yoast have had previously disabled Search Appearance settings get re-enabled causing Google to start to pick up content it shouldn’t via the sitemap. Content Types, Taxonomies, Archives are affected.

This only seems to be affecting certain sites, mainly ones using The7 theme and even that doesn’t seem fully consistent… so now it’s more unclear what’s up. I just know that for some everything is back enabled and some it’s disabled as I would expect. Weird.

So either I’m going insane or it only affected The7 theme sites that were developed a year or more ago and not more recent ones. Weird. So, overall probably a non-issue for Yoast. It could have been some The7 related update that changed how their custom post types were defined which would affect older sites as they were upgraded and cause them to appear new to the Yoast Search Appearance sections.
