First character missing from feeds

  • Hi – I’ve a very strange problem.

    All has been working fine until last few days, but now the feeds (rss, atom) of my WordPress installation are missing the first character of posts.

    My wordpress is at Highlands News. Try clicking on the feeds and you’ll see the first character of recent posts is missing.

    Any ideas, or anyone with the same problem?

  • Temporarily disable all plugins and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn’t, then try switching to the default theme to see if the problem is theme-related.

    Switched off all plugins – no difference. Tried default theme – no difference.

    Any other ideas?

    Just noticed I am having the same problem. I tried turning plugins off and changing themes – no luck.

    I just realized the problem was I was not leaving a space between the NextGen Gallery tag and [singlepic id=1359 w=320 h=240 float=left] and the post. When it was like this [singlepic id=1359 w=320 h=240 float=left]Start it removed the S vs. being like this [singlepic id=1359 w=320 h=240 float=left] Start where the S would appear. Not a perfect solution but it works. Must be something about how the feed is stripping those tags in particular – just add a space and the problem is gone.
