    Hi
Recently I have noticed my cache filling up really quickly. I remember seeing this before and there was a simple solution to it but I cant remember what it was. I think it was either conflict with another plugin or a simple setting. I need a laymans solution if possible because Im not a coder. Can anyone help please ?

lots of info in the AO FAQ, but tldr; these settings fix _most_ cache size issues

    * uncheck “also aggregate inline JS”
    * uncheck “also aggregate inline CSS”
    * exclude wp-content/cache and wp-content/uploads from CSS optimization

    hope this helps,
    frank

Thank you sincerely for getting back to me but I cant see any of those settings. I can see ‘optimise javascript code’ and ‘optimise css code’. Is that the same as aggregate ?

I cant see the exclude setting at all.

Do you know why I cant see these settings ?

    Thanks

Click on the “show advanced settings”-button near the top-right corner, that should help ??

Thanks again but i dont even have an advanced tab. I have an ‘extra’ tab but none of those settings are in there. Any ideas ?

    Thanks

Gotya thanks. The only change i could make was unticking aggregate all inline css. everything else was set as you recommended but hopefully that will be enough to fix it. Thank you for your patience and persistence !

Unfortunately that solution didnt work. Do you have any other ideas ?

OK, we’ll take a step back; can you compare the number of files in wp-content/cache/autoptimize/js with wp-content/cache/autoptimize/css? how much in each?

Im in file manager looking. In order to be accurate is there a way to see how many files are in the folder at a glance or do I need to manually count them ?

    Plugin Author Optimizing Matters

    (@optimizingmatters)

well, if there a clear winner? in that case you don’t need to count ??

    Thread Starter robertham

    (@robertham)

OK, got it, I wasn’t sure so counted but there is a noticeable difference with 88 JS and 192 CSS

    (@optimizingmatters)

and how long has it been since you last cleared the cache?

OK, I propose to keep it like this for now and check back on amount of files tomorrow (I suppose “file explorer” can tell you the amount of files in a directory, counting is so old-fashioned ?? )

    Thanks Frank

It’s almost full already and I havent even been doing any work on the site for weeks. I would have thought File explorer could give you that information at a glance but if it does, I cant see how ?

    Cheers

    Andrew
