I created a CPT “Download” and wanted to associate a template I created via the Templatera Template Plugin, also called “Download”.

I am able to select the “Download” template:
    Single Post Dynamic Template
Select a template to be used for your singular post design.

But when I request the detail page of the CPT it uses the default. I tried a few things w/out success, e.g. associating “Default template for post types” in the WPBakery Page Builder General Settings.

As I use a Theme of the plugin author I have a Theme Settings section in the admin of the plugin. I noticed that when activating
    “Post Settings Metabox
Enable the post settings metabox in the editor for this post type.”
    that by selecting the option
    “Dynamic Template
Select a dynamic templatera template to override this page. If selected it will disable the front-end editor.”
in the Settings section of the CPT Download the dynamic (Templatera) template is used.

    tl;dr
Associating a dynamic template for a CPT in the Theme section admin area of the plugin (with an active Total Theme) does not result in the template being used in detail view.

Hi, I deleted the CPT, removed Post Types Unlimited and installed Custom Post Types UI.

I added the Templatera ID of the template to “Dynamic Singular Template ID” and then set the option “Post Settings Metabox” to true for being able to see the Total Theme Settings of the author. From there I changed the setting “Dynamic Template (Select a dynamic templatera template to override this page. If selected it will disable the front-end editor.)” back to “default”.

Now it shows the behavior I had hoped for from the beginning.

What I like in Post Types Unlimited is that there’s a selectbox to choose the dynamic template from. In CPT UI I have to lookup the ID.

But I still consider the described behaviour in my first post from yesterday a bug.

    Hi.

Sorry for the delay, looks like we were not getting email notifications for the support requests ??

This is a bug in the Total theme (not the plugin itself). I’ve fixed it for the upcoming Total update but I can send you the fixed file in the meantime if needed if you leave me a comment on ThemeForest .

Hi. I’m getting the same issue when using the “Single Post Dynamic Template” option too.

@wpexplorer – is there are quick fix I can apply to any of the Total theme files to fix before the updated version is released? Thanks very much, Phil ??

    Hi Phil,

Yes here is the fixed file: https://cl.ly/2447d3

    Replace via FTP under Total/framework/vendor/

I’ll be pushing out a live update with the fix soon and some other tweaks ??

For any future issues with the theme and Total though please let me know on ThemeForest as this forum is exclusive for the plugin and if you are using Total then you have priority support so you’ll want to make sure you comment on the item page ??

    Thank you @wpexplorer – cheers ??
