• Hi,

We recently upgraded to version 2.8 having not upgraded once since early 2008.

When adding imagery, it shows the formatting perfectly in the edit mode (e.g. alignment and embedding within text etc.), but once we preview or publish, all the formatting is lost and at times the image fails to even appear.

This is incredibly frustrating and we cannot work out why it appears fine until this last step.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  • Site url?

Same thing is happening all over my site as well. I hit the update button the other day and since then none of my images format properly. The text no longer wraps around my images and all the images align to the left side of the page no matter what i specify when I upload those images. Quite frustrating, not sure why they messed with this as it worked perfectly prior to the upgrade. is there any chance they will fix this problem soon. It’s dreadful for using media of any kind now. https://www.fatboyfitnessblog.com

    Have you tried:

    – disabling Google Gears if you have that running/installed.

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

renaming the plugins folder via FTP

About 90% of these problems have been found to be related to plugins.

I’ve tried all the above when the problem occurs.

What’s most frustrating is that all formatting is fine when its posted for the first time, but when if I go back to edit a post, formatting and/or script for video is lost, sometimes.

Text formatting doesn’t appear to be as unstable, but on almost every occasion when editing a post that contains video script, when I update the post, the video is lost.

I’ve had this problem with three different theme’s, and I’ve tried deleting the entire post and reposting it, to no avail. Just to be clear, I would always start by entering the text into the ‘visual’ window and toggling to HTML to enter the video script, if this didn’t work I’ve tried entering both the text and the script into the HTML, again to no avail.

I’ve also tried using the Inline Javascript plugin, again to no avail.

I’m now reinstalling wordpress for the 5th time which appears to be the only thing that cures the problem.

Should I just resign tot he fact that I can’t edit posts, or is there a fix. I’ve had the problem so many times now, I can’t believe I’m the only one.

    Please HELP…..

    Kind regards

    Anthony
