I contacted Dreamhost and mentioned the problem with Wordfence. I am unable to manually refresh rules.
They said, “They (WP Specialists) are not aware of any issues, but they would suggest looking into deleting the rules.php ” So I had them do that and now the rules will not update at all. It says it cannot reach the Wordfence servers. HELP Wordfence!

Should I just delete the plugin and reinstall?

  • Just a quick update from our side. Dreamhost’s team has identified some other possible blockages that we’re looking into. However, we’ve had reports of the rules now updating on Dreamhost’s servers. Please check your installation of Wordfence to see if you can now update the firewall rules.

I’m also getting this error on one of my Dreamhost sites with the WordFence plugin…but not all and they are on the same shared server. Any other ideas? UPDATED: this is resolved.
