WP should not feed Google

I really find it alarming that WordPress uses Google fonts in Standard themes like Twentyseventeen, especially without indication! That means that every request establishes a connection to Google and transfers data. I really do not want to expose my readers to this scenario.
I know that it is possible to get rid of this problem but I find that it should be default to not feed such data kraken. In the meantime this is an issue relating to data privacy acts, which I do welcome in this aspect.
