• Hi,

Due to some misunderstanding with the assistant of my host’s Call Center, my WP blog appears to have been moved from a subdirectory to the root. I say “appears” as it is only the pointer in the MySql that has been changed to the root, whereas the physical location of the files (as seen in the File Manager) has remained the same, that is in the subdirectory.

As I cannot get any clear explanation of how this issue could be solved, I thought of restoring a previous backup.

I have many backups, but I see a potential problem: those made before this problem have a name beginning with mysite-comsubdir… , while those made afterwards have a name like mysite-com –thus without the subdirectory.

My question: if I try to restore one of the older backups from the dashboard of my present blog, will install properly the old site? Or is this diference in the logical (yet not physycal) location of the blog prevent it from working?
