Moving WP installation

  • I currently have WP installed on my site in the root folder (there’s no “WordPress” folder which contains the files; everything’s in the root). If I wanted to move all the WordPress files to their own folder, how could I set it up so that the front page for my site would still display my blog?
    In other words, I want to create a WordPress folder with all WP files in it, in the root directory, instead of having a bunch of files floating around in the root….but I still want to make the entry page to my site (www.venialsin.com) grant access to my blog.
    And THEN, I want to take a CSS-based HTML site and make it work with WP, but that’s a whole different barrel of fish. For the first part at least, could anyone suggest what I need to do in order to clean up my root directory?
