Hello, i have problém with importing images from media library. Import is sucessfull but images are completely missing (thubnail and original). It because it search image on URL /wp-content/gallery/gcisernhagen/golfclubisernhagen201708_10.jpg

but the URL of the image (upload via media library) is /wp-content/uploads/2017/08/golfclubisernhagen201708_02.jpg

I am not sure, what should happend, when i use import from media library (duplicate image to both folder? or use the original URL of the img?)

Or is there some other way how to upload image to media library and nextgengallery but having that image only one time on FTP? When i upload image to the nextgen from PC, i am missing that picture than in media library – thats problem for me.

  • Hi @franktomas

Could you please let us know why do you need that photo in your Media Library? Perhaps I need to issue a bug report to our developers or create a feature request.

Here is a link that explains how to do a batch upload, but that might depend on what you want to archive in the first place: “Import Folder of Images from the Server” https://www.imagely.com/docs/adding-images-uploadingzip-filesimage-folders/

The link to the thumbnail of your photo should have the pat “/wp-content/gallery/gcisernhagen/…” NextGen Gallery creates a duplicated copy of the image you have already uploaded to your Media Library.

As for the problem that you are currently experiencing, please try to deactivate and reactivate the plugin again.

If the problem persists, please, try to remove the plugin and re-install.

    Please, keep us posted.

    Hello,

its client depand, having picture in media and i gallery at the same time. Because he wants to user these pictures in other places on website, outside the gallery. But i understand, that mixing picture in your gallery and in media isnt your main goal.

I tried to replicate what happening when i use import from media folder (i dont want to import from FTP) – https://www.loom.com/share/78599dca225e4b03b40102ac24245c73
Probably copy of the images never happaned due to error below. Maybe restriction on hosting side?

I am using 7.2, so it cant be outdate (on live version will be 7.3 then)

according to these erros problem is, that plugin want use use folder /tmp via open_basedir but it is prohibited on webhosting, because each domain (in this case subdomain for development purposes) have own temp folder, but plugin doesnt not using it (it using probably some default) or is there some way how to set-up which folder will be used for temp files?
