WordPress ping problem? (It pings too often?)

I read the description for: https://www.maxblogpress.com/plugins/mpo/
It essentially says that WordPress pings too often and that most blogs are probably banned from ping servers.
Is this information correct?
If yes, should I use that plugin to fix the issue?
And, are there other alternatives to fix the issue?
