Cannot save imaeg in wordpress Template

hello,
im using script to save JPG image in the wordpress template under image_cache/ folder. i have given all the permissions to this filder 777, but no luck. But it works fine locally. I want to know that is there any special permissions has to be given to this folder on the server to make it work or its just another problem ? . Can anyone response me quickly ?, its urgent.
