    Hello,

a customer had the visual composer plugin installed which I replaced with the elementor plugin yesterday.

    The website is: https://bgpower.de

Every but the main page seems to be fine with this change.

On the main page somehow, the background color of the header changed (which isn’t that big of a deal) and I can’t seem to be able to position my customers slider properly.

Before the switch to elementor, the slider took the entire width the side. Now, after the switch, the slider seems to be directly inserted in the main page content which is obviously limitted in its width. I can’t figure out how to get the slider out of this context without affecting my customes subpages.

I hope my question is writting down clear enough. Otherwise, feel free to ask for more information.

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,
    Goku

  • The theme may be controlling the home page. Try creating a new page, designing it the way you want (using Elementor Full Screen template to get that slider going full screen) and then assigning that new page as the home page in WP’s Settings > General.

Thank you for your fast answer. Just started to overwork the page and can’t seem to find a full screen template. Arend there only full screen ones? I just put the slider back in the content and having the same problem yet again.

In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4KscnfVmfg he is speaking about an option to set the page to full screen but it seems like I need this plugin for this. Im sure to miss something which can easily be setup in elementor itself.

Figured it out by myself (by clicking on the dots in the middle of the section I was able to change the layout of the element on the left side).

Something I am still pretty confused about: I am never able to change the section on the very top of my page. Everytime I want to change something there, I have to drag an item above it so that the other is a little further down to then change this up.

Is this some kind of a bug or is it just me? Do you know what I mean?

Sometimes section handles get hidden a little by other sections that might be using negative margins to move them up, or for various other reasons. The best thing to do to handle this is to use the Navigator. This makes it easy to select a section to work on, plus the Navigator makes moving sections, etc. much easier. Check it out at https://docs.elementor.com/article/378-navigator
