    Hello Tom !

I come back to you because I noticed that the sub-menus of the top menu do not work in tablet. It refers to the link of the main menu and not to the link of the submenu. And I searched, I disabled plugins, I removed all my css code that I had added, but I have no results. I do not understand. Do you have any idea of ??what can lead to this?

    Thank you !

    Hello again !

I may have found. When I go into the layout of the navigation drop-down menu, instead of setting in “flyby” mode, I set in “click menu item” mode and it works much better. Is there a particular way with the flyby mode?

    Thank you !

    Hi there,

I believe what you want is to use custom links for parent menu items:

Let me know if this helps ??

    Hello Leo !

Thanks for answering so quick !

Yes that solves the problem of my links on the tablet, but it creates another problem : I want the link of the parent page to be displayed in my breadcrumb, and with this technique, it is no longer there. Do you know how to do it ? I did the breadcrumb with Yoast Seo.

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

Sounds like a possible bug – any chance you can set it back to “Hover” and link us to your site so we can take a look?

    Thanks!

    Hi !
I send you the link of a test site that has the same problem (I am not allowed to send the real site): https://conseilspedagogiques.com/
    Thanks

    Hi there,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner!

So I just took out our iPad and went to that website.

Using landscape mode, I tapped once on “Ma seance”, which has a sub-menu. The first tap revealed the sub-menu.

Now I can choose one of the sub-menu items, or I can tap the parent link once more to go to that page.

It seems to be working normally.

Are you experiencing something different, or am I misunderstanding the initial issue?

    Let me know ??

    Hello Tom,

I have a problem related to this: the sub-menus and the tablet,

There are three options to show the sub-menus:
    1. Hover the parent item
    2. Click the parent item
    3. Click the parent item’s arrow

-In desktop mode I need the first option (Hover the parent item)
-In tablet mode I need the third option (Click the parent item’s arrow)

I need those two behaviors to work simultaneously.
Could I solve it with css?

Thank you very much for the support!

    Thank you Tom !

On my side, in tablet, if I click on the link ??ma séance”, the sub menu takes place. After, if I raise my finger to click on the submenu, the sub menu does not work. I have to slide my finger along the sub menu starting from ??ma séance?? for it to work. Is this normal? This may be part of the operation of the “hover” mode and I did not know it maybe ??

If so, I try to change mode: “Click the parent item”. But the problem is that the main link ??ma séance” is no longer a page and therefore it is not shown in the breadcrumb. Do you know if there is a way to display it in the breadcrumb? (The mode “Click the parent item’s arrow” displays the page but it does not meet my needs ergonomically).

    Merci

I forgot to mention that for the “Click the parent item” mode, if I want the page to appear in the breadcrumb, I have to create a parent page and place it in the menu. The problem I have is referencing. I do not want this page to be referenced because it is virtual. I can report it to Googlebot but after that, I’m not sure that the robot will follow my recommendations (and the page being without content, it would not be good for the site). After, I can follow Leo’s recommendations on this link: But in which case, I lose the page on the breadcrumb …

@east13nd – unfortunately, this isn’t possible at this time. I’ll see if there’s something we can do in the plugin to make it possible.

    @focuswp

That doesn’t sound right – you should be able to remove your finger from the screen and select a sub-menu item.

I just tried again, but it looks like you have it set to “click” right now. Your concern about Google indexing that empty page is a fair one.

What browser are you using on your iPad?

    Tom,

The browsers for my tablet are Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. I use it to do tests. So I tried both browsers, but problem remains the same.
Regarding the referencement on Google, I did not understand very well. You tell me that I’m right not to create a virtual page at risk of finding it referenced despite the no-index? That’s right ?

What kind of tablet are you using?

I mean, you could create a page just for the breadcrumb and noindex it, I don’t think it would hurt. Maybe it’s possible to adjust the output of the breadcrumbs without creating an empty page? Have you checked with their plugin support?

    Let me know ??
