How to automatically make old posts go to next page?

    I would like to know how to automatically set to have a maximum of 10 posts on each page and make the older posts to to the next page so that when the visitor reaches the bottom of the page they can click next page to view older posts. I have set the ‘Blog pages show at most’ to 10 posts but the older posts just disappear from the website instead of going to another page.
