Facebook Import -App Credentials

    FaceBook Import fails. Trying to import event ID 1515060108624887 and I receive the below error message. I authorized Facebook credentials, flagged the event as ‘going’, and the event is public. I am also the administrator of the Facebook account “The Deck on Lobdell Lake”. I have a personal facebook account and “The Deck” is one of the 3 pages within that account that I am administrator of. When I authorized Facebook, I only authorized The Deck on Lobdell Lake to import so I did not authorize the personal account.

    Error Message:
    We are not able to access Facebook event: 1515060108624887. Possible reasons: – App Credentials are wrong – Facebook event is not public or some restrictions are there like age,country etc.

    Hi @t1martinez,

    Sorry for inconvenience can you please check below points?

    – If you have authorized facebook app with say User1 account than make sure to mark event Interested/GOing using user1 account and try to import

    – Event ID you given has multiple owner so might be issue due to that but if you mark event using same account it should get imported.

    If still issue let us. You can also contact us on our website if you using pro version.

    I’ve checked both of those points. I also tried to import a couple of different events that I definitely created myself. Still was unable to import. Do I have to go through additional “App Review” since this is a business page (added on to my personal account)?

    I haven’t bought PRO yet because I want to be sure the basic functionality works before I spend $$ to upgrade.

    Hi @t1martinez,

    No you need not to go through app review. App need to be in-development mode and if you can authorize it from setting page of plugin than app is fine.

    Yes, hello again. I tried to import another event 607748279730613 and still no luck. I have a personal page with two business pages associated with the personal page. I authorized the one business page (The Deck on Lobdell Lake) from which I want to import events. I am admin for all accounts. I selected “Going” for the events, and I’ve authorized the account with Facebook. What else could it be? Thank you!

    Try to reauthorize your account and import using Event ID. I tried same event and its working fine

    Still no luck. I reauthorized and that didn’t work so then I deleted the App and started over. Still receive the same error. Do you think it’s because I’m not authorizing my personal page but just the business page attached to my personal account? I don’t want to import events from my personal page, just the business page.

    Ok; somehow now it works. I clicked ‘show’ the ‘app secret’ and then pasted it and then the import worked.
