WordPress Page As Main Page – The rest of the blog as subdomain

I will preface this with the fact that I know nothing…about anything – so if you feel compelled to explain anything to me as you would to a child…I wouldn’t be upset ??

My question is this: Is it possible to use a ‘wordpress page’ as the main domain page but the rest of the blog as a subdomain? Or do I need 2 installations of WP? And if I must use two, can they be linked together?

I would like to use silenciobarnes.com as my page and my subdomain blog.silenciobarnes.com as my blog…of course. Trying to figure out what to do on the main page, I’ve run into quite a few blocks – then I figured that I could probably just use a wordpress page…like everybody else ?? But I don’t want to move my whole blog to the top domain – I really like “blog.silenciobarnes.com” ??

I’m still upset over the fact that I can’t have my new simple:press forum on forum.silenciobarnes.com and must regulate it to the lowly address of blog.silenciobarnes.com/forum :))

Any help would be appreciated, if I’m overlooking something obvious, please don’t hesitate to give me a withering look and tell me all about myself for the mishap ??
