I am testing Revisionary on our staging site, running WordPress 4.9.10. We have HeroThemes installed and are using “articles” instead of pages. As “Revisor” role, I have tried the following:
    1. Edit a published article and click “Submit Revision”.
    2. I click “Go to Revision Manager”
    3. Next to Requested Publish Date: Immediate, I click “Edit” and enter a time 5 mins from now, click OK, then click “Update Revision”.

The page reports “The revision was updated.” However, on the right-top corner, it still says:
    Requested Publish Date: Immediate

It doesn’t appear that the scheduled date was saved. Additionally, if I scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Scheduled Revisions”, it says there are none.

The article does appear under “Pending” in the All Articles view.

Switching to an Administrator role user, when I edit the pending revision, there is only an option to “Publish Now”. And it still says requested publication time is immediate. There is no “Approve” button so I can approve the content and have it publish at the future scheduled time.

If I repeat the steps above as an “Editor” using the “Send to Approval Queue” option to create a revision, schedule it for a future time, I see the same behavior (there is no option to approve and the article remains in Pending past the scheduled publish time).

    Questions:
    1. Am I doing something wrong? I expect to be able to approve the content and have it auto-publish on the scheduled date.
    2. Is Revisionary incompatible with HeroThemes?

    Thank you in advance!

    @rkennedyallego,

The Requested Publish Date update response you describe indicates that the selected date is past. In addition to bumping the publication minutes by 5, can you confirm that each element of the date and time are present or future? Also confirm that you have the correct time zone selected in Settings > General.

Updating a Pending Revision’s requested publish date does not schedule it. After successfully updating to a future date, you will still need to click the “Schedule” link as an Editor or Administrator.

These notes also apply to your “Send to Approval Queue” example. Selecting a future date for a pending revision does not cause it to be scheduled. The approval that Revisionary provides is either “Publish” or “Schedule”.

Kevin, thank you for the quick response and very helpful information! You were absolutely correct. The timezone settings (under Settings > General > Timezone) were not set correctly, resulting in a time set 5 minutes from now to actually be in the past (WordPress displaying “immediately” as a result).

I have confirmed that after configuring the TZ properly, I am able to:
    1. Set the scheduled to a future time and have that time appropriately displayed as the “Requested Publish Date”.
    2. When reviewing the article, there was a “Schedule Now” button to approve the edits.
    3. After clicking “Schedule Now”, the article appeared under “Scheduled Revisions” at the bottom of the page as expected.
    4. After the time passes, the article is automatically published.

So all working exactly as designed. THANK YOU for resolving this issue fully and quickly!
