• I have the auto scan set up but it’s causing problems.
    First it times out. Second, and most importantly, it takes the site offline (or rather, makes it inaccessible) towards the end of its run. It seems that it’s just using up too many resoures.
    My performance settings are these:
    USE LOW RESOURCE SCANNING – YES
    LIMIT NO ISSUES SENT: 1000
    TIME LIMIT IN SECONDS: [NOT SET]
    HOW MUCH MEMORY: 256
    MAX EXECUTION TIME: 0
    What can I change these to in order for the scan to stop blocking the site and also finish successfully?

    Can you please email me your Diagnostics report so I can get a better view of your environment? From the WordPress Dashboard navigate to Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics then click SEND REPORT BY EMAIL to send it to [email protected]. Please also add your www.ads-software.com username and update this post so we’ll know what it’s in reference to.

    I took a look at the diagnostics and didn’t find anything out of the ordinary (though Gerroald may find something).

    Can you set the MAX EXECUTION TIME to 15 or 10 seconds? I’ve seen in the past that users were unable to finish a scan because this value was set to 0 (default). What I’m guessing is that every scan stage is allowed to run for too long, which eats up a lot of resources.

    Setting this value to a shorter amount of time may allow the server to use less resources (but use more time for the entire scan to finish).

    Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work. I get this error now after setting it to 10:

    High Severity Problems:
    * Scan Time Limit Exceeded

    Is there anything else you can suggest to allow it to successfully scan?
