    Hi,

    I’m interested in trying this plugin out for the Google Photos integration, but I’m concerned that like Picasa, Google Photos might be terminated in the future (who knows with Google).

    Google Drive seems like a more reliable option for me, any chance this plugin will support Google Drive for galleries in the future?

    Google Drive’s API gives you the capability to simply upload and download files and nothing else. With the API you cannot do things that are essential for galleries, such as retrieving image information or fetching photos of different sizes or fetching album metadata. Google Drive is essentially a facility acting as a storage device, not a gallery.

    If and when Google announces the end of Google Photos and provides enough capabilities in its replacement I will change Photonic accordingly. Google often gives sufficient lead time for such cases. E.g. Picasa’s end was announced in early 2016, but Google Photos’ API was released in May 2018, more than 2 years later. Photonic adapted to the new API almost immediately.
