• I know this question has been asked, but none of the proposed solutions work for me.

I was able to import blog posts, but the author was lost in the process.

However, only a few images came over.

I have gone through the process of generating the xml file, but whe I try to import it, I get error message dealing with the server.

I would love to know what to do

  • Hi @nubiesan
Sorry you are having this issue.
What error do you get from the server? Please can you state the versions of the two WordPress installations (where you are importing from and where to)?

I don’t get any error messages. The text imports just fine, but the images are missing.

The site I am trying to import to is running the newest version. I am not sure which version the exporting site is running. It will be shut down by the end of the month, so I am not sure how much updating I should worry about.
I am trying to move the posts from one site to the other. There are over 300 posts with multiple images in each, so I am not looking forward to doing this manually.

The new site has not yet launched; I only have a temporary address: https://gg0.587.myftpupload.com, but the old site is https://blog.uniquebabyquiltboutique.com/

I appreciate your help and any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Do you have FTP access to both sites? If yes, then I suggest you

    1. Access this path : public_html/wp-content/uploads,
    2. Download every folder inside the “uploads” folder
    3. Upload them to the same location (wp-content/uploads) on your new site
